PS3 - WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2010 Review

It is certainly a professional video game related to the wrestling which was developed by the Yuke's. It was also published by the THQ for PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3 as well as the PlayStation Portable (PSP). The Xbox 360 system certainly is supported by this system. Let me tell you that it is named after two brands which are the Smack down as well as the Raw.
As far as the first announcement is concerned let me tell you that it was done in may 2009. The THQ certainly came up with the news that they will be soon developing the new series of games as far as the Smack down as well as the raw is concerned.
The PlayStation 3 mode of the wrestling gathered very good review. Let me tell you one thing that the PlayStation 3 version got the very handsome review. It got 83 out of 100. Meanwhile the Xbox 360 also received a very handy version. It was around 80 out of hundred which is certainly a very good review result.
Let me tell you that the game was promoted with the tagline that, "it's your world now". The game spot which is a trailer related to the game was the first video and it was released on august 20.
You will be able to create the modes. There is one storyline mode. With the help of this mode you can design the stories which will be followed during the battle between two or a group of wrestlers.
There are the clones of all the wrestlers who are the part of the raw. You can select anyone and you will be able to fight with them through this software.
You might be seeing the wrestler in the TV. You will find all of them in this game. Either it is the undertaker or the Michael; all of them are present in this video game.
There are around six stories in this video game. You can select any one out of them all. There are so many characters involved as well. If you are the regular viewer of the wrestling then you will certainly find most of the clones familiar. You will find the story being told by the same person who recites the stories on the television.
However if you do not have the knowledge of the wrestling then you will certainly find it quite difficult to play this game. So make sure that you have the proper knowledge as well.

PS3 - Tekken 6 Review

Let me tell you that the Tekken 6 is certainly the latest one as far as the series of the Namco Bandai's Tekken series is concerned. It was released in Japan on November 26th 2007. It features new stages as well as the characters. It was being planned that there will be a 2008 release as well. But later in Japan it was delayed up till 2009. Let me tell you that the PlayStation3 version of this game has some special features. They definitely contained the additional content.
The developer of this game is also Namco Bandai. The publisher as well is Namco Bandai. It is well equipped for the PlayStation3 as well as the Xbox 360. Let me tell you one thing that both of them are equally good. We all know that the PlayStation 3 has the additional features. The character customization process is also being enhanced. Let me tell you one thing that the stage is even bigger with more interactivity.
You will also be glad to see the new rage system. The characters get more damaged per hit at the time when the vitality is below a certain point. Once you will activate some character then the reddish energy will appear around the character.
This certainly makes the characters look more attractive and the whole environments starts glowing. This certainly creates an interest in most of the players mind and they are overwhelmed by playing this game. As far as the rage aura is concerned, it can be customized with a set of colors. The color will certainly be chosen by you. You will also have to reflect the fire electricity as well as the ice through the rage aura.
The each and every character has some set of moves. They all are allowed to use each set of moves. The moves certainly can be eye catching. At single move you can smash down the other person on the floor.
As far as the console version is concerned, let me tell you that they are much more developed as compared to the windows version. It also contains the scenarios campaign. Let me tell you that it is a very good feature.
With all these features this game is all set to hit the top position in the list of the video games. If you will go in deep then you will certainly find this game to be very interesting as well.

Call of Duty - Modern Warfare 2 - Review

When Infinity Ward released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare even they could not of expected the mass success of the game, it quickly climbed the most played lists and has since remained there, until now. With the release of Modern Warfare 2 the hype was unbearable and Infinity Ward has a lot to live up to with gamers everywhere expecting something approaching demi-god status.
I cant help but feel that the game was to hyped up, making it almost impossible to live up to the image of the game everyone had in there heads, but if you ignore the hype and just play the game you quickly realise that Infinty Ward has done something amazing again.
While there's no major change in the formula, run, gun and shoot they have polished it until it gleams. Once again Infinity Ward have proved themselves the master of set piece's with some stunning locations, settings and set pieces that will stick in your mind for a long time to come. Storming the Gulag, fighting outside of the white house and sneaking through snow storms are just some of the things the player will experience throughout the rather dissapointingly short campaign mode.
All of these amazing battles show of the game's graphics which are frankly amazing with some brutal animations and mixed with the first person view you get dragged into the game easily, providing you with an intense experience.
This intensity is constant throughout the game, it never lets up and has a level of intensity that very few other games can even come close to matching, though sometimes it just feels to much and you find yourself wishing for just a second or 2 of breathing space that never comes.
Thankfully the pacing is good, one minute your storming a prison and the next your sneaking through a snow storm using a heartbeat sensor to elude enemy patrols, it keeps you on your toes and you never have time to get bored thanks to the short missions, each one never lasts to long so it keeps your attention and you never get bored of one level.
However this translates into an extremely short campaign mode, lasting around 6 hours even on Veteran mode. it's over far to quickly, though due to the games intensity it's understandable as I doubt Infinity Ward could of kept the games flatout pace for a 10 hour campaign.
Thankfully Spec-op's mode gives the game some extra lifespan, there a series of 23 short missions that can be played in 2 player co-op mode, giving it extra appeal. there's a good range of missions from race's, defending a place or assaulting estate house's and sneaking through enemy patrols. there all levels from the singleplayer, just with there objective's changed and there only a few minutes long but it does add some welcome lifespan to a short singleplayer mode.
The story could of been very good in this game, however most people are going to find it hard to follow simply due to it being very disjointed as you constantly jump from character to character. it's incredibly hard to follow whats going on and why it's happening as your dragged from country to country and never getting a chance to get any feeling what so ever towards the game characters. I simply didn't care about the characters around me and the person as i was playing as, there effectively blank slates.
Of course I cant review a Call of Duty game without talking about the multiplayer which made the original Modern Warfare so popular. keeping the original formula, Infinity Ward chose to give us more customisation and choice's, creating a diverse system. You now have access to a vast range of attachments for your guns, ranging from thermal sights to shotgun's that attach to your assault rifle, along with a perk that now allows you to add 2 attachments to an weapon.
Killstreaks have now become customisable and have a large range to choose from, such as sentry guns and harrier airstrikes. It's more over the top and unrealistic than the original and you can certainly argue it's even more unbalanced. The ability to gain a tactical nuke if you get a 25 killstreak was not a good choice as it now encourages kill boosting so they can gain that instant win.
is it original? no. does it change much from Modern Warfare? no.
Is it the most intense action shooter of the year? yes.
Whilst it does not change anything in the shooter genre or add any original idea's of it's own it still provides a thrilling, if short, campaign and one of the finest multiplayers out there.
It's not the perfect game that everyone was so hyped about, but it's still a dam good game.
SCORE'S:
Graphics: 92% Highly detailed graphics and amazing scenes add up to a graphically impressive game
Gameplay: 94% still the smoothest and most polished shooter out there
Lifespan: 88% this can vary, the singleplayer is very short but the multiplayer could keep you hooked for a long time.
Overall: 93% A visually stunning shooter with a fine multiplayer but lacks anything original or any real changes from Modern Warfare 1 and an exceptionally short campaign.

Assassin's Creed 2 - Fun and Challenging

I have spoken to quite a few people that did not like the first serving of Assassin's Creed. There were certain elements that they found to be frustrating. I personally thought it was one of the best games that I had played in a long, long time. So Did Ubisoft address any of the issues that players faced in the first game?
In short, yes they did address and fix these elements of the game while adding more to it. This game is quite large and the good thing about it is that it is long. You really get your money's worth. If you did not like the first game at all, then by all means stay away from this one but if you liked Assassin's Creed even just the tiniest bit, then you will more than love part 2. As I have said before it is huge and that is just the main quest. If you choose to play any of the side quests then this game will consume a good part of your life. It is just that big.
The game play elements are pretty similar. They just added more to it. The graphics are OK. It does at times seem devoid of color. Lots of browns and grays in the color pallet. The draw distance is not that great either but neither one of these ever hurts this game at all. The sound is superb and the voice acting is some of the best that you will find in a video game. There is something satisfying about quietly sneaking up behind an opponent and delivering a quick fatal blow with your hidden weapon. This game is worth the price tag in my eyes.

GTA 3 - Game Review

And the game that marks the passage of the GTA series from 2D to 3D, with outstanding results.
It 'almost impossible for every video game he had never heard of this series was born in 1997 and has sold nearly five million copies around the world.
Like all fans of the saga already know, we wander in the game in a big city on foot or by other means, in search of new missions to be done that will give us the chance to earn money to purchase them and we slowly reveal the plot of game.
Unlike previous chapters, we could do this in environments in three dimensions, which will bring many new possibilities.
The game is set in a metropolis called Liberty City, a sort of New York version of super violent, with a high rate of crime and prostitution.
The city is in the hands of three major Mafia gangs (Mafia, Yakuza and Puerto Ricans) who divided the three main areas of Liberty City.
The beginning of the game shows us John (the protagonist), a criminal of low relief that the coup attempt of his life in a bank, but something goes wrong and he was arrested, then manage to escape.
During the attempted escape of John taking control and start the flight in the car with 8-Ball (a fellow prison.)
At first, we find ourselves a bit 'out of place before the vastness of the city, fortunately, the map is easily accessible and not difficult to find the place where you can start a new mission.
What stand out is the incredible freedom that is granted to a player, we could in fact decide to explore the city (only the first section, however, the other two are locked at the beginning) or go in search of new missions to accomplish to go forward in the plot, will be up to us to choose.
The missions have a variety of situations to be addressed, we pass from robberies to the sniper missions, drug trafficking and so on.
Graphically the title Rockstar is well built with changing weather conditions and excellent lighting effects, but it also has flaws like the sudden appearance of some buildings.
Special mention should be made to the soundtrack of the game, in fact when we are driving a car we can change the radio frequency, from song lyrics to rock songs.
The view is third person and character control are good, well arranged on the gamepad and allow good management of the character.
As for longevity, GTA III unrivaled in that it has about 73 main missions that will ensure many hours of gameplay, plus the freedom of action granted to the player, the hours may increase significantly.
Ultimately GTA III is a masterpiece also because it marks a real revolution for the series and brings a flurry of news in the gaming world, has few flaws including imperfection some graphics. Recommended to all fans of action games and those who want to try their hand at something totally different than the games released so far.

Mystery Case Files - Dire Grove Game Review

MCF: Dire Grove is the latest chapter in Big Fish Games' Mystery Case Files (MCF) series, with the events in the game taking place right after Return to Ravenhearst. Once again, you take on the role of the master detective as you continue to tackle mysterious cases that include hints of the supernatural.
MCF: Dire Grove starts with the detective (that's you!) driving back through the English countryside after solving the mystery in MCF: Return to Ravenhearst. As you're driving, you are caught in a freak snowstorm that is so intense that your vision is entirely obscured, and you are forced to stop in a secluded village just off the motorway: Dire Grove.
As you approach the village, you find an abandoned car along the road. Investigating it, you come across scraps of paper and a video cassette containing disturbing information about a dark legend that had come to life. As you progress further into the village, you start to discover that something is really wrong here. The village seems abandoned, and you find more video cassettes showing recordings by a group of archaeology graduate students who had come to Dire Grove to investigate an ancient dark Celtic legend. And by the looks of it, they found what they were looking for...
The first thing you'll notice when playing MCF: Dire Grove is that the production values for this game have gone through the roof, much better than its already-impressive predecessors! All the art and music in the game are gorgeous and fit the theme and atmosphere brilliantly. To enforce the atmosphere of a snowstorm, you also have snowflakes and flying leaves moving all over the screen.
What stood out for me was the almost movie-like quality in the cutscenes. The intro scene and all the video clips showing the archaeology students and their misadventures are live action recordings. The acting is pretty decent and the recordings have an almost Blair Witch-like quality to them. All of this adds an extra dose of realism to the game, drawing you in like never before.
The gameplay of Dire Grove has also evolved from the basic hidden object gameplay of the earlier instalments in the MCF series. This game is an adventure and exploration game first, with hidden object gameplay and puzzle elements thrown in. You don't get mindlessly led from one hidden object scene to another. Instead, you need to use a bit of exploration and logic to decide what you should do to achieve your immediate goals and advance the plot. The game isn't extremely difficult to solve though; most of the objects of interest will have a slight sparkle to guide you along your path.
The hidden object scenes and the puzzles that appear as minigames are both of the standard that you would expect from a MCF game. The designs are crisp and clear, while the puzzles are difficult enough to require a moderate amount of thinking and planning, but not so difficult as to detract from the story or become a stumbling block.
There are also puzzles that span across multiple scenes. You might find a crowbar or a bunch of nails in one scene, and won't find a use for them till an hour or more later. There are also obstacles that require manipulating the scenes. For example, there's an object of interest on the top shelf in the garage. Now what can I find in the area that I can use to reach it?
As has been said before, the game has superb production values, and is a full-fledged adventure puzzle game that will draw you in for hours on end. What else can you expect from the developers of the Mystery Case Files series who have yet to disappoint?
Rating: 5.0/5.0

Classic Atari 2600 Video Games

During that time, Atari set the standard for video games. In fact, before Nintendo came along in the late 1980s, the word Atari was synonymous with video gaming.
Even more popular than the system itself were the games that were created to go along with Atari 2600. Many of the following games still remain as staples in arcades all over the world:
• Adventure - Often considered the first action-adventure video game, Adventure allowed gamers to move a character through color-coded castles in search of swords and keys.
• Asteroids - A favorite of Star Wars fans everywhere, Asteroids gave players the chance to control a space ship through hyperspace and shoot at different types of space debris.
• Frogger - Fans of this game will remember moving a frog through a busy street, dodging cars, trucks, and buses in hopes of reaching a river on the opposite side.
• Gravitar - In this classic sci-fi game, players would orbit the surface of different planets and shoot at bunkers on the surface.
• Haunted House - Gamers would have to navigate their way through a haunted mansion that dubbed as a maze, avoiding bats, ghosts, and ghouls along the way.
• Joust - Flying around on an ostrich, players would have to maneuver their way around a playfield in an attempt to kill buzzards.
• Pac Man - Maybe the most popular video game of all time, Pac Man would give players the ability to move a hungry yellow circle through a maze of small dots.
Many of these retro Atari classics are plastered in the minds of people who spent their childhood playing Atari. These games passed the test of time and will continue to be played in arcades across the globe for many years to come.
